An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the OS 1st edition map straddling the parish boundary of Moor Crichel and Withampton to the north of New Town. The post medieval extractive pit is visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery, it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the OS 1st edition map straddling the parish boundary of Moor Crichel and Withampton to the north of New Town. The post medieval extractive pit is visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery, it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP (1-2).
