Full Description
A double ditched linear feature on the west side of Northleigh Road, Colehill, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises two narrow, slightly curvilinear and parallel ditches that are partially marked by a dispersed line of trees on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The feature is presumed to be a historic field boundary of probable post-medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. Alternatively it may be a post medieval to modern trackway.
The feature is under the gardens of a modern house on current Google Earth imagery and no longer visible, although the garden's northern boundary line may respect this former feature. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
