Full Description

Two banked linear features to the southwest of Park Homer, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are around 3m wide and slightly curvilinear in form. They are set broadly perpendicular to each, effectively sub-dividing a larger historic enclosure present on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries may be medieval in origin. The features are considered to be historic field boundaries of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. The northwesternmost of the two features may alternatively be a banked plough headland.

The site is under what is now the south side of Park Homer Drive on current Google Earth imagery. The features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
