Full Description
Ditched linear features at Canford Bottom are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise a series of narrow rectilinear and slightly curvilinear features that align with adjacent field boundaries present on the OS 1st Edition map (2). These boundaries are possibly post medieval in origin, although an earlier date is possible. The features are also considered to be field boundaries of possible post medieval origin, although they may be part of an earlier phase of enclosure in this area.
The site is under housing on Dales Drive and Lawns Road on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
