Full Description
Ditched and banked linear features on the northwest side of Colehill Lane, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and broadly rectilinear in form. They sub-divide a large irregular historic enclosure present on the OS 1st Edition map whose boundaries are likely to be predominantly medieval in origin (2). The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still within fields and the features are still partially visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
