Full Description
An area of cultivation marks to the west of Wood End is faintly visible on aerial photographs (1).
The features are indistinct but appear to comprise narrow parallel ridges set around 4m apart with 1.5m wide ditches in between. They occupy part of an irregular historic enclosure, bounded on their southeast side by a former ditched field boundary of possible post medieval origin.
The features may be those of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery but with significant boundary removal since the 1940s (1). The field is ploughed and croped and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
