Full Description
The linear ditches of a post medieval drainage system to the southwest of Brook Hill are visible on aerial photographs (1).
The interlinking rectilinear ditches extend across an irregular historic enclosure recorded to the north of Barley Mow Barn on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The ditches appear to link in to a larger drainage channel to the west, also recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). Some of the linear features may dually funtion as post medieval field boundaries.
The site is a nursery on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
