Full Description
Ditched linear features to the west of White Sheet Plantation are visible in 1940s aerial photographs (1).
By 1946 this area is substantially cleared of plantation, although it is shown as plantation on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features comprise a series of interlinking and crossing linear ditches, narrow and irregular in form. They are considered likely to be post medieval trackways.
The site remains partially open fields with patches of trees on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
