A shallow sub-oval depression in a field to the east of Pig Oak is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The feature is 31m long by up to 14.7m wide. It may be a post medieval extractive pit.

The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery. The feature may be visible as a cropmark in 2012 (2). It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
