Summary

Ditched and banked linear features on the Leaze, Wimborne Minster, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval origin, although the linear banks may be earlier in date; possibly associated with the medieval settlement to the north (MDO6244). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched and banked linear features on the Leaze, Wimborne Minster, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features are presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval origin although the linear banks may be earlier in date; possibly associated with the medieval settlement to the north (MDO6244)

The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
