Full Description
Scarped curvilinear features to the west of Canford Magna are visible on aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise two slightly curvilinear sections of scarped bank. These sit either side of a possible historic field boundary or boundary bank (MDO41085) and broadly on the same alignment.
The features may be historic lynchets of possible medieval origin. Alternatively they may be historic trackways of possible post medieval date.
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery, with some modern boundary changes and cut by the A31 Wimborne bypass . The features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
