Ditched and banked linear features at Longham Bridge are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

The features are predominantly narrow and rectilinear in form and they sub-divide irregular historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose curvilinear boundaries are likely to be medieval in origin (3). The position of two of the linear features are marked by dispersed rows of trees on the OS 1st Ediion map, suggesting they are removed historic field boundaries (3).

The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries, probably post medieval in date, although an earlier origin is also possible.

The site is under rough ground and low scrub on Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. A 1972 aerial photograph illustrates the development of the rough ground and the gradual disappearnace of the features (4). They were digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
