Full Description

Ditched and banked linear features at Corfe Mullen are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The features are narrow and slightly curvilinear in form. They align north to south on the same axis as a historic field boundary to the west, bordering Brickyard Lane (as recorded on the OS 1st Edition map 2). At their southern end they clearly overlie an earlier banked linear feature (MDO41470).

The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries, probably post medieval in date although an earlier origin is possible.

The site is open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
