Summary

A shallow holllow depression to the south of Sleight, Corfe Mullen, is visible on current Lidar imagery. The feature may be a post medieval extractive pit but might alternatively be of natural origin. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A shallow holllow depression to the south of Sleight, Corfe Mullen, is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The feature comprises a 30m long by 20m wide hollow, with smooth sides and a shallow flat base. It is located beside the north edge of Pardy's Hill and may be a post medieval extractive pit. Alternatively it may be a feature of natural origin.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
