Full Description

Ditched and banked linear features on open ground at Upton Heath, Corfe Mullen, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-2).

The features comprise several short sections of curvilinear ditches and banks on an area of open ground recorded as heathland on the OS 1st Edition map (3). The features form a broken line from the south before turning to head west. They are presumed to be sections of a historic trackway of probable post medieval date.

The site is still heathland on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still visible in places. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
