Full Description
Ditched linear features on open ground at Upton Heath, Corfe Mullen, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise several short sections of linear and curvilinear ditches set parallel and closely together on a broadly S-N and S-NE alignment on an area of open ground recorded as heathland on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features are presumed to be sections of historic trackways of probable post medieval date.
The site is under trees on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
