Full Description
Ditched linear features to the northeast of Corfe Mullen are visible on aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-2).
The features comprise two narrow slightly curvilinear ditches within a narrow historic field recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, the north side of which is defined by a stream or historic drainage channel (3). The two linear ditches link into this larger channel and they are considered likely to be post medieval drainage ditches, possibly dually functioning as field boundaries.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery. The features are stll faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
