Full Description
Ditched linear features to the west of Kingston Lacy Park are visible on aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise sections of narrow linear ditch forming two parallel lines on a SW-NE axis. The features extend for over 170m, from the west side of a historic field and disappearing into woodland at their NE end.
The features may be trackways of uncertain date. They are situated within an area of settlement, trackways and field systems of probable late prehistoric date and may be features associated with these (e.g. MDOs 41687; 41688; 41689; 41692; 41765). Alternatively they may be of later origin, possibly post medieval in date.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery. The features are visible in 2005 (2). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
