Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit on the southeast side of Kingston Lacy Park is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature comprises a large irregular scarped depression approximately 165m long by up to 153m wide. The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit within Chalk Pit Copse on the OS 1st Edition map (2).
The feature was digitally plotted from current Lidar imagery by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
