Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit at Farrs House is visible on1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-2).
The feature comprises a shallow and sinuous linear depression up to 60m long by up to 17m wide with an additonal scooped 22m by 26m depression to the east of this. Current Lidar imagery suggests the features are cut into a shallow slope of ground (2). The features may be a post medieval gravel pit.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is still visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
