It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project it is one of four low rounded hollows presumably ploughed-out extractive pit, in the vicinity.

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is shown on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map at Maiden Newton [1]. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. It is one of four low rounded hollows, all presumably ploughed-out extractive pit, in the vicinity.
