An 'Old Chalk Pit' is shown on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map at Maiden Newton. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project it is one of four low rounded hollows presumably ploughed-out extractive pit, in the vicinity.

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is shown on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map at Maiden Newton [1]. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. It is one of four low rounded hollows, all presumably ploughed-out extractive pit, in the vicinity.
