'Old Chalk Pits' are marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the south of Rampishan village. Two large chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

'Old Chalk Pits' are marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the south of Rampishan village [1]. Two large chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs [2] and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.
