Summary

A bridge over Chivrick's Brook, the parish boundary between Manston and Sturminster Newton. The bridge is of rubble with ashlar dressings, and the date '1821' is carved on one of the piers.

Full Description

<1> Royal Commission on Historic Monuments, 1970, An Inventory of Historical Monuments in the County of Dorset, Volume III (Central) Part 2, 144 (Monograph). SDO136.

'(2) Hosey Bridge (79901508), on the W. boundary of the parish, carries the road to Sturminster Newton across Chivrick's Brook. It is of rubble with ashlar dressings and spans the brook with two semicircular arches. The parapet walls have rounded copings and end at small rectangular piers. The date 1821 is carved on the S.E. pier.'
