Full Description
A group of four irregular sub-circular pit are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on Grimstone Down, Stratton (1). Three of the features are recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, the larger of these recorded as an old chalk pit (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The features are still visible as earthworks on current Google Earth imagery (3).
