Summary

Banked and scarped linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery at Langcombe Bottom, Maiden Newton. The features are considered likely to be lynchets of probable medieval date. The features are situated on the western edge of extensive Iron Age/Romano-British field systems on Hog Cliff Bottom (MDO42829) and Fore Hill (MDO42898) and it is possible that some of the features are outliers associated with that. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
