Full Description

SY 63759764. A ditchless grass-covered mound, slightly mutilated on top with a diameter of 15.0m north-south by 14.0m east-west and 1.2m high. It is badly shaped and situated, below the crest of a hill falling to the north, but is probably a bowl barrow. <1>

A mound of soft earth situated on the north, downhill side, of a terrace (either the remains of a strip lynchet or a field track). The mound measures 15.0m across from N to S, and 9.3m E to W. It is 1.5m high on the lower N side and 0.3m high on the S, and is most unlikely to be a barrow or of any great age. Both the mound and surrounding area are in a new plantation. No survey action taken. <2>

A low banked mound is visible as an earthwork on current Lidar imagery on the southeast edge of Huish Plantation, Sydling St Nicholas <3>. The feature measures approximately 12.7m in diameter and is recorded as a possible Bronze Age bowl barrow (NRHE Hob UID 453154) although confidence in this is low. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
