Full Description

Linear banked features are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs on the area of Eastfield Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1, 2). The features are located across several historic fields but suggest no obvious relationship to the historic pattern and alignment of these fields. They are situated within an area of extensive Iron Age/Romano-British field systems and are considered likely to be field boundaries and trackways of similar date, although a later origin for some of the features is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Some of the features are visible on different years of Google Earth imagery.
