Full Description
A linear banked and ditched feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs on West Hill, Batcombe (1). The feature comprises a hollow linear ditch extending eastwards from within a wooded area and across a historic field where it appears to run below a historic field boundary. A narrow linear bank borders part of the ditch's north side.
The feature may be a trackway or hollow way of potentially medieval or earlier origin. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is still faintly visible on current Google Earth imagery.
