Full Description
A curvilinear banked and ditched feature and a sub-circular ditched feature are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs on the south side of Long Ash Lane, Frome St Quintin (1). The features may comprise a medieval to post medieval water channel and pond; the pond is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The possible water channel extends south into Frome Park Coppice and an area of former medieval deer park (MDO1192). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is still visible as an earthwork on 2005 Google Earth imagery (3).
