Full Description

An elongated scarped depression is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs in a field at Fisher's Bottom, Sydling St Nicholas (1, 2). The feature comprises an approximately 80m long by 27m wide scarp with a raised internal mound, positioned with its north end abutting a historic field boundary. It may be a post medieval extractive pit. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
