Listed Building record MDO43125 - Hogchester Farmhouse, Axminster Road, Wootton Fitzpaine

A farmhouse built in the seventeenth century with an eighteenth-century addition. The older part of the building has walls of stone lias covered in render, and the later extension is of brick. Surviving features of the interior are reported to include an open fireplace with large wooden lintel.

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of flint rubble or cob and the roofs are thatched or covered with modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (9) Hogchester, house 700 yards S.W. of (8), has an 18th-century addition on the W.’
