Summary

A farmhouse built in the early 19th century. The villa-design building has brick walls covered in render and hipped slate roofs with brick chimney stacks. Seventeenth-century material re-used in the house includes oak panelling, and it is thought to be on the site of or possibly incorporate part of a 17th-century manor house. There is a stone archway dated 1622 outside.

Full Description

Newland's Farm, originally a manor house now a farm and tithing, belonged to the Minterne family in Elizabethan times. House mainly 19th century with re-used 17th century material including oak panelling. Outside is a stone archway dated 1622. <1> <4>

The sole surviving part of the former building is the stone archway (at ST 61730507) with the date 1622. <5>

No change since report of 29 9 55. <6>
