Full Description

A station on the Admiralty Shutter Telegraph system to Plymouth, constructed 1806, was formerly situated at Nettlecombe Tout. Adjoining stations were at Bell Hill to the east (ST 80 NW 14) and High Stoy to the west (ST 60 NW 19).

The shutter telegraph ceased operation in September 1814. <2>
