Summary

The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. It was opened in February 1962 and the post was closed in September 1991. The site was found to be in a fair condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. The site was located underground in a small rectangular compound on a field boundary on top of Elbury Hill, 120 yards south of un-named road.

Full Description

The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as a part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. The site was found to be in a fair condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. <1>
