Summary

This archaeological evaluation was conducted over three fields and while there was no archaeological features in Field 1 and Field 3, within a certain portion of Field 2 there are two truncated postholes and two shallow gully terminuses, these could be associated with post-medieval agricultural activity. A ditch approximately 95m long and a possible prehistoric posthole were located with western portion of Field 2.

Full Description

The trenches of 7-18 were contained within Field 2 and of these trenches, archaeological evidence was recovered from Trench 10, 13, 14, 17 and 18.
The truncated remains of two postholes were observed in Trench 13, within Trench 17 a single posthole and a ditch were recorded which contained a charcoal rich fill and very small fragments of burnt bone, burnt flint and a single flint flack were recovered. Situated to the south of Trench 17 was Trench 18 which contained the continuation of the ditch uncovered from the previous trench.
