Summary

A rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1995. It is considered to be of later prehistoric date and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (1-2). It is 51m by 47m in size with an entrance on the northeast side. Other linear ditches are visible to the southeast which may be parts of associated enclosures or field boundaries. It is abutted on it's southwest side by two linear boundaries (MDO44064-5) and it considered to be of later prehistoric date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.


A later prehistoric ditched enclosure is recorded as cropmarks on 2015 Historic England oblique aerial photographs. It is possible that is associated with a boundary and enclosures to the north east (NRHE 1622704). It is also recorded on Google Earth 2017 vertical aerial photographs.

It measures about 50m by 50m and has a curved northeast side. It is centred at ST 9299 0299. (1-2)
