Full Description
The faint soilmarks of a probable late prehistoric enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This is centred at around ST 9456 1393 and is one of two small polygonal enclosures in the same field to the north-west of the village of Chettle (see also 1570778). This enclosure is reminiscent in shape and size to a number of polygon-shaped enclosures in Dorset identified as part of the RCHME Bokerley Dyke survey. Cropmarks of a late prehistoric spectacle enclosure have previously been identified in the field to the west (monument 868685). <1>
