Full Description
A large irregular chalk pit is visible as earthworks at Tarrant Launceston on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature is not recorded on pre-war historic mapping and is likely to be early 20th century in date. The feature partially encroaches onto the site of a medieval/post medieval chapel (MDO5038). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
