Full Description
(Centred SU 037144) Part of an area of 'Celtic' fields (Group 85) covering the chalklands in the north east of the county. North of Nine Yews (SU 038136) two phases of fields can be distinguished, one overlying the other, and at SU 039138 (see SU 10 SW 19) the fields appear to be integrated with a bank and ditch presumably serving as some form of boundary between blocks of fields. The more elongated rectangular type of field, generally attributed to the Romano-British period possibly occurs south and west of the River Crane. <1>
