Full Description

The house [of 17thc. date?] has three ornaments on the modern porch, perhaps from an earlier building. ASHE, once a manor, now a farm and tithing. In 20 HEN VI. John ROGERS had a farm and 35 acres here. <1> <3>

Known as ASH FARM. I have been here 10 years but know nothing of its history or of any ornaments on the porch <4.1>. The south front including the porch has recently been refaced. The west face is partly brick and has a stone buttress. Otherwise the house is of stone and completely lacks external features of dateable antiquity though none of it looks particularly old or weathered. <4>
