Type and Period (1)

Full Description

The house is of 17thc. origin but much altered. An original doorway is now altered into a window. <2>

The dwelling is now known as HINCKNOWLE HOUSE. I believe that the northern half was originally two cottages to which a more modern southern half was added. A well preserved stone built private dwelling. The northern half is evidently the original and the window referred to in T2 is in its eastern face. The southern half may be early Georgian. <3>
