Full Description

Medieval and later paths and trackways are visible as earthworks skirting the edge of Launceston Common on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s, but have subsequently been ploughed level. They outline a large triangle which is centred at ST 9556 1070 and extend, very roughly, between ST 9488 1098, ST 9612 1140 and ST 9578 1019.

The trackways and paths cut through several of the banks that form the "Celtic" field system (ST 90 NE 11 / UID: 209273) and some of the trackways serve the sites associated with the Second World War bombing range (see ST 91 SE 248 / UID: 1481331). The trackways were levelled by ploughing by 1953. <1-2>
