Summary

An area of parallel ridged cultivation marks to the east of Lytchett Matravers are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered likely to be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of medieval to post medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

An area of parallel ridged cultivation marks to the east of Lytchett Matravers are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features are considered likely to be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of medieval to post medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. They are no longer visible on 2021 APGB imagery.
