Full Description
SY 536879. A scatter of RB pottery had been known for some time in a small field on the east side of Puncknoll Knoll although the slope of the land seemed to rule out the possibility of occupation. Ploughing in 1966 exposed a dressed limestone block. Investigation found this to be one of four blocks. The ecavations which followed uncovered an extended male skeleton with no accompanying grave goods. Small sherds of RB pottery were found in all levels of the grave fill. <1>
