A 14th century gilded bronze pendant was found in the spoil heap during groundworks for the construction of the Upper School at Shaftesbury School in 1982-3. The shield is of type II and has a lion rampant on a background of what was once probably red enamel. A few 14th century coins were found from the same spoil heap [1].
