Summary

A curvilinear enclosure with associated pits is visible as cropmark on aerial photographs within the field system described in record MDO48869. It is 26m across and appears to abut (or is overlain by) one of the celtic field boundaries. It is possibly the site of a plough-levelled round barrow, or a D shaped enclosure contempory with the field system. It is visible as cropmarks on aerial photogaphs and was recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valley Aim project.

SY 744987. Enclosure surrounded by Celtic field system. <1>

SY 74499884. Probable Iron Age/Romano-British, D-shaped enclosure on Cheselbourne West Down is comparable in size, shape and apparent situation with the enclosure (SY 69 NE 12) in Nether Cerne. <2>

Nothing visible on the ground. <3>
