Full Description
Banked and ditched linear features in fields to the south of Lytchett Matravers are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features conform and align with the historic field pattern, some appearing to sub divide historic fields. Others might be drainage features. Overall they are considered most likely to be field boundaries and/or drainage ditches of post medieval date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. Some of the features are still visible on 2022 Google Earth imagery, although others are now under tree cover.
