Summary

Dorchester Town's Avenue Stadium was inaugurated at the start of the 1990-91 season. Built on land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall the new stadium was designed by the Duchy's architects. The main feature of the stadium is the gabled west stand which seats 710. Under the main stand are the V.I.P. lounge and boardroom, changing rooms, laundry, and treatment room. The Duchy covered the southern end terrace with a slated roof, and the football club covered the eastern terrace, in the same style, at their own expense to maintain the aesthetic symmetry. The whole ground was constructed at a cost of around three million pounds.
