Listed Building record MDO47697 - St Bartholomew's Church, Shapwick

A parish church, dating originally to the 12th century, but altered and enlarged during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. It was restored, and the chancel largely rebuilt, in 1878. Walls of stone and flint, roofs tiled, some with stone eaves courses. Nave, chancel, west tower, south porch, north chapel and porch. Listed.

The parish church of Saint Bartholomew at Shapwick retains 12th century work on the north side of the nave. Additions were made, and rebuilding carried out, in the 14th century, and the west tower was completed in the 15th century. The church was restored and the chancel was largely rebuilt in 1878. <2>
