Summary

Site of a Light Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battery within the south-eastern part of th Royal Naval Cordite Factory at Holto Heath, and designed to defend that establishment. It is known to have been operational between 1942-3 when it was manned by troops from the 448th Battalion iof the 84th Regiment. It was installed with a single 40mm gun mounted on a Mark II platform. There are no surviving traces of the battery. Ground photo with archive report.
